Arsalah ZAFARI, Ph.D.

Dr. Arsalah ZAFARI is the Head of the Islamic Banking and Finance Department at the Afghan International Islamic University. He received his BA in Islamic Law and Jurisprudence from Kabul University, his Master degree in Sharia (Islamic law) from International Islamic University Pakistan, and his Ph.D. in Islamic Commercial Law from Necmettin Erbakan University, a prestigious university in Turkey.

He has been appointed as a lecturer at government universities and has been teaching different subjects in undergraduate and postgraduate programs since 2015. In the academic field, he has published several finance and banking-relevant articles in national and international journals. Meanwhile, he has presented unique papers at national and international conferences in Afghanistan and Turkey. Mr. Zafari has also served as an editorial board member of several high-ranking national journals and acts as a reviewer for top-tier international journals. He attended different physical and virtual programs, such as AAOIFI and Nadee Al-Iqtesaad Al-Islamee (a financial unit at Kuwait University). He obtained different professional certificates from international financial institutions.

In addition to his research and academic experience, his Excellency provided Islamic banking and finance training, products, and consultancy to several financial administrations. On the other hand, he has served in various managerial positions and could head different authorities in financial institutions.

Sabawoon

Head of Department and Assistant Professor, Bakhtar University – Kabul

Sabawoon holds a Master’s degree in Shariah and Laws from the International Islamic University in Islamabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Shariah from Kabul University. With extensive experience in Islamic law and finance, he has been instrumental in shaping the academic offerings at Bakhtar University, where he teaches and leads the department.

His areas of expertise include Islamic Banking and Finance, Islamic Economics, and Sharia Governance. Sabawoon has published several research papers and translations, contributing to the field of Islamic finance and law in Afghanistan.

Mufti Mohammad Jamal Ahmadi

Mr. Ahmadi recited the Holy Quran at the age of thirteen, completed religious education in Peshawar Pakistan and Kabul. Completed Dawar Hadih and Expertise in Fiqa in the year 1396 from Jamia- Bahrul-Uloom Peshawar Pakistan.  Completed Bachelor and Master in Tafseer and uloom-e-Quran from Jamiatul Mustafa Al-alamya in Iran in the year 1402.
